INFRAMAT™ Galvanized pipes undergo a unique on-line rust-preventive coating process called Dura-Coat™. This protects the pipes against rusting in highly humid climate of coastal areas. Dura-Coat™ process is the superior method of building anti-rust properties in INFRAMAT™ Galvanized pipes. It begins with selection of high tensile steel strips, which is then cold-formed and welded. After welding, the tube receives a unique treatment.
The smooth and shiny end product is unmatched in strength and durability. INFRAMAT ™ Dura-Coat™ pipes exhibit greater corrosion resistance because of the synergism created by unique coating treatment.
Dura-Coat™ results in a highly anti-corrosive coating, which is formed due to a chemical reaction with the galvanized surface and this film becomes an integral part of the zinc coating . The film passivates the highly reactive zinc surface and retards the formation of white rust by a substantial margin. Also, the Dura-Coat™ enhances bonding or adhesion of any additional paints or coatings applied over the galvanized surface.
Shown below is the result of comparative Salt Spray Testing at 10 Hours and 25 Hours , for galvanized rectangular tubes of INFRAMAT™ alloys vs competition, conducted as per ISO 9227, and ASTM B117.
